Recommended Rear Axle Suspension Kit for 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 Towing Trailers

Question:

Questions about the Timbren -TGMRCK25D versus the Sumo SSR-207-47 for a 2015 GMC 2500 HD. I would like to know the length of each from the bottom of the mounting cup to the bottom of each unit. My truck levels out nicely with all of my trailers dropping approximately 2inch in the rear once hooked up and loaded. I am looking to find out which unit will still allow the truck to level out close to what I have now, well as not affect the unloaded ride too much, but still give me added stability while towing. Should I also consider the Firestone F8632 as an option, although not a big fan of all the extra hardware needed. Thanks in advance for your reply.

The type of rear axle suspension enhancement kit that will do what you're looking for - provide support when your suspension is under load from the trailer, but not otherwise change anything in terms of ride quality - is a Timbren jounce spring kit. Timbren kit # TGMRCK25D that you referenced will do this while offering an easier installation than almost all other kits. The Timbrens provide progressive resistance as the load increases.

It is also a zero-maintenance item that you can forget about once you install it. Please refer to the linked video to see this kit installed in a 2016 Sierra 2500.

Since we have many hundreds of positive reviews from users of this Timbren kit I suggest this over the Firestone kit # F2709. As you noted, the installation will also be less involved.
