Best Fifth Wheel Hitch Setup for 2017 Ford F-250 with Rail Kit Towing Open Range Roamer 367BHS

Question:

Ok I have a 2017 F250 shortbed with the factory prep package. Was originally looking at a slider fifth wheel hitch, but after researching, I am thinking of using a fixed fifth wheel hitch and a Reese airborne sidewinder pin box? I am looking for the best ride and the safest hookup I can get. Btw, the rv is a Open range roamer 367BHS with a tounge weight of 2350 and a unloaded weight of 11,300. Is the Reese airborne the best option for ride and safety available and if not what would you recommend for my particular setup? Also is the BandW companion the best option for the fixed fifthwheel hitch or if considering the Reese pin box do I need to stick with Reese? I have heard nothing but good things on BandW products.

Long story short....yes to everything you mentioned.

Fifth Airborne Sidewinders are the best possible route for your setup since you'll get the cushion of the 5th Airborne and the turning clearance of the Sidewinder. You'll really like this setup. Your Open Range Roamer has a factory Lippert 1716 pin box on it so the correct 5th Airborne Sidewinder is the part # RP61412.

For a hitch the B&W Companion hitches are referred to by many as the best fifth wheel hitches on the market so I recommend them highly. For that you would want the part # BWRVK3300 which fits directly to the factory rail kit of your 2017 Ford F-250. You'll want the custom wedge for the Sidewinder that's designed for the Companion hitches part # SWW-06.

In my opinion there is no better fifth wheel towing setup than the hitch and pin box you picked out.
