Will a Weight Distribution System Fix Sway that Occurs at 50 MPH
Question:
I have a 37 ft travel trailer that I am pulling with a F350 diesel and am having a lot of sway issues at 50 mph what system would you recommend for such a large travel trailer? 8000 lb trailer and 720 pound hitch weight.

Expert Reply:
Sway at the speed you listed will not be fixed by a weight distribution system. You either have a trailer that is not sitting perfectly level or you the trailer doesn't have enough tongue weight. You need the tongue weight of the trailer to be 10-15 percent of the total weight of the trailer. In most cases if you just move as much weight to the front of the trailer as possible that will solve the problem as well.
The Equalizer weight distribution system part # EQ37100ET would be an excellent choice though for tongue weight of 720 lbs.
