Removing the Lens Cover on RV Euro Style Interior Single Ceiling Light with Built-In Switch # RVIL21
Question:
How do I remove the snap on cover? It does not seem that it can be removed by squeezing. Do you pry it off with a knfe or screwdriver? I do not want to break the cover while removing. Please give specific instructions. My RV is a 2011 Trailmanor Elkmont 24.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled an RV Euro Style Interior Single Ceiling Light with Built-In Switch, # RVIL21, to determine how the lens is removed. There are 4 tabs, 1 at each corner, that hold the lens onto the base. You will want to squeeze in on the sides of the lens and pull back at the same time in the direction away from the switch. The lens will slide back allowing the tabs to clear the base and the lens can be removed giving you access to the bulb. I found the best place to grip it is just above the holes (where the tabs/feet will come out) just slightly behind the first set of feet closest to the switch.
To replace the lens, make sure all 4 feet are seated in the holes and push back, towards the switch. The lens will then snap into place. I do not recommend using a knife, screwdriver, or any other tool as it could produce too much torque and damage the light.
