For your 2013 GMC Terrain, your owner's manual does state that you should not use tire chains on this vehicle, but it also states that a Type-S low profile cable can be used if recommended by the cable manufacturer.

The decision to use tire chains can be confusing between what the manufacturer says and what the laws on chain uses in the state you are traveling through. the manufacture will state that if you use chains and something happens, they will not honor any warranties. However, if you are caught stuck in the snow in a state that has chains laws, you may incur a fine for noncompliance.

If you decide to use a snow tire cable chain, then the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, # PW1042, are confirmed to fit the 235/60R17 tires on your GMC Terrain. These cable chains are Class S rated to be used in low profile applications. You will want to follow the manufacturer's installation and operation instructions when using this product.
