Recommended 3 Bike Hitch Mounted Hanging Rack For 2017 Subaru Forester With 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
Question:
I just bought a 2017 Forester, they are installing a 1 1/4inch hitch. What would be the best bike rack? I would like it to fit at least 3 bikes. I was thinking of a hanging bike rack. Thanks,

The bike rack I recommend for your 2017 Subaru Forester with a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver is the Thule Helium Aero Pro 3-Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum # TH9043PRO. This is a light weight carrier at only 23 lbs but is can carry 3 bikes at 35 lbs each. It has quick-release levers that let you fold down the arms and tilt the rack forward to access your Forester's cargo area. It has One-Key System that secures the rack to the vehicle and the bikes to the rack with the integrated cable lock. The cradles are road dapening and will keep the bikes from hitting your vehicle or each other.
Note: You will want to make sure they install a class II hitch and not a Class I hitch because that will limit you to 2 bikes with any carrier.
If you have step through frame bikes, I recommend the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005. This will give you a level ride by creating a top tube frame and will give you greater ground clearance.
