Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt Sport

We do carry the parts you'll need to flat tow your 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt Sport, as long as your car doesn't have a turbo charger. The Blue Ox # BX1662 base plate kit is confirmed to fit and will pair with the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420. I like the Avail becuase of the higher, 10,000 pound, weight capacity. The Aventa LX also includes safety cables.
To power the lights of the Cobalt use the diode kit # RM-154. According to an online owner's manual for a car you will need to remove the # 8 Ignition Switch, PASS-Key III+ fuse. To make this easier use the FuseMaster Fuse Bypass # RM76511. What this will do is allow you to deactivate these circuits with just a switch instead of having to remove the fuses every time.
For a supplemental braking system use the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700. The InvisiBrake installs into the Cobalt permanently so once it's in you never have to mess with it. It also requires the use of a stop light switch # RM-751200 to alert you when the brakes are being applied.
Finally, you'll likely need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop your setup requires. I've also linked our selection of adapters for you to look at once you know what you need.
