Best Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying E-Bikes with a 2011 Toyota Prius
Question:
Im getting an expensive mtn e-bike 50# that I want to have locked as securely as I reasonable can on a rack. Do you advise a hitch and hitch rack or a trunk mount rack and what products do you advise? Id want to be able to carry at least 2 e-bikes securely on the 21011 Prius +/-100#. Thanks

For what you are looking to do a hitch bike rack options is by far the best option. This will give you a much more secure place to mount the bikes, a much easier route for locking the rack/bikes to the vehicle, and due to the weight of your bikes there isn't even a trunk rack that would be rated for that. Plus the weight would damage the hatch of the vehicle.
So for a hitch you would need the part # 24847 which is a confirmed fit for your 2011 Toyota Prius, but for a bike rack I strongly recommend the Saris # SA4025F. Not only because it's basically your only option (due to the weight of your e-bikes), but because this rack is incredibly nice. It only touches the bikes at the tires, it comes with locks for the hitch and bikes, and because it only weighs 35 lbs. In case you are wondering the rack has a 60 lb per bike capacity.
