What Capacity Tire is Needed for Tandem Axle Trailer that weighs 10,000 lbs

Question:

I have a 30foot Toy Hauler that came with 225/75R15 D load range Tires. By the time I load my two harleys and other things I am around 10,000. I have had issues with blow outs in the past and thought I would upgrade to E load range tires. I found a local dealer who carries Maxxxis E range tires. They sold me the tires mounted on some white spoke wheels Pacer 310W-5660. After I got them home I researched the wheels and found that they are only rated at 2150. They told me they would be fine and I would have no problems. I see where you carry a dexter white spoke wheel 6 on 5-1/2. Should I go with that wheel or do you think I would be alright using the wheel the dealer sold me.? Thanks

If your trailer tires are not rated for the total amount of weight your trailer is going to be towing you are asking for problems.

The part # AM32680 that you referenced has a capacity of 2,830 lbs and would give you more than enough capacity. If you are interested in replacing your wheels and tires to something that will be rated high enough this would be the way to go.
