5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed

I am looking for a 5th wheel hitch for a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Crew Cab short bed 4X4 truck. Removable if possible but not absolutely necessary. Thank You.

You will be able to remove any 5th wheel hitch that is a fit for your 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. Some are easier to remove than others but most can come apart in at least 2 pieces to make it easier. Since you have a short bed truck you will need a slider.
There are manual sliders and automatic sliders. For a manual slider I like the Curt A16 16K # C16521. It has a cushioned head and round tube roller base with 12 inches of travel. I have linked a video review of this hitch for you.
For an automatic slider we have the Demco HiJacker # DM8550034 for 18K or # DM8550035 for 21K. These hitches slide automatically and have 14 inches of travel. The more travel the more clearance between the truck cab and the trailer when making turns. I have linked a video on the HiJackers as well.
Both of these hitches will work with Reese universal installation kit # RP30035.
