What is Purpose of Center Strap on Front Arm of Hollywood Racks Express 3 Bike Rack
Question:
HR3 bike rack instructions and box give directions for four straps. Mine has a fifth strap in the middle of the front bar. What is it for?

That center strap is designed for reaching around and grabbing the bike frame once you have a bike loaded as an additional way to secure it. In the 3:04 section of the video I attached you can see our installer mention it and then at 3:26 he begins running it through the bike frames.
