Which End of Battery Disconnect DW05312 Attaches to Cable and to Battery

Question:

As I look at the pictures it seems that the cable end has the stud end that comes up and goes through the clamp attached to the battery post. IF That is the case, there are some batteries where the clamp to the post is not going to reach an open area so you can come in from underneath and make the connection. Others because of battery placement are simply too tight to the body work of the vehicle or other car parts to allow for the what appears to be an underneath move to connect. OR AM I looking at the picture wrong? Does the battery post clamp actually have a thread you screw into? From an engineering point it seems the threaded post would be on the battery post clamp and then you put the cable on from the top and then screw it down. As I said I may be looking at the picture and not seeing how it really works.

I attached a picture that I hope clears up for you how the part # DW05312 attaches to a battery post.

The design works for most post style applications, but not every application will work since clearances are different.

I attached an install video below for you to check out as well that shows a typical install for you to compare to what you have.
