Recommendation for Mounting Quick Fist Super Clamp # QF20020 to Enclosed Trailer Walls
Question:
I was wondering what the best solution would be and the appropriate method to mount this to my enclosed trailer walls. The walls studs are 16inch apart and the walls are luan backed vinyl. I was thinking of either putting the centre hole through a stud and then having the other two just into the luan or I make a mounting plate 16inch long and mount that into two studs then mount the clamp into the plate. Would building the mounting plate be overkill? I need to mount a fire extinguisher and a scuba tank.

Due to the weight of a scuba tank and extinguisher I would recommend using a mounting plate to tie the Quick Fist Super Clamp # QF20020 to two studs. That's quite a bit of weight and you'll want all the support you can get.
