Recommended 5th Wheel Rail Mounted Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I may buy a truck that has the two rails already mounted in the bed but no other parts. Can I get a goose neck ball mount that will just fit right in? It is a Ford 03 short bed and my camper is 6000 lbs. Are the rails universal because they all look alike to me. I have photos but dont see a way to attach them to the email. I dont see any brand on them. You have always been a big help in the past. A more inexpensive model would be prefered. Thank you.

With 5th wheel rails, there is a standard fit that fits most brand hitches. This also means accessories like a gooseneck adapter are also fit to those standard rails in your 2003 Ford Super Duty.

To add a gooseneck ball to those rails, you can use:

Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 25,000 lbs # RP58079

Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset - 25,000 lbs # 16055

Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, 25,000 lbs GTW # 16085

For the price, I personally like the #49080 for the price point.
