Recommended Brake Controller For 2015 Audi Q5 Diesel
Question:
I have a 2015 Audi Q5 diesel with the factory hitch installed. I need a brake controller. My vehicle already has the 7 way connector. Which controller and adapter if needed do I need? It already has the connector under the dash for the brake controller.

For your 2015 Audi Q5 diesel, we don't have any adapter harness for the brake controller from any of our manufacturers. There isn't a plug and play option even though you have the factory 7 way connector.
For a brake controller, I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will apply the brakes to you trailer with the same amount of force and at the same time as you apply the brakes in your Q5. This controller has an LCD screen that takes any code deciphering out of the picture. It lets you know at a quick glance all that you need to know about your trailer in real time. It is adjustable to your driving preferences and has 3 levels of boost to choose from at any given point.
To wire your controller, you will need to simply match functions with your under dash connector. The brake controller wire functions are:
Red Wire = Cold Side of Brake Stoplight Switch
White Wire = Ground (negative)
Black Wire = 12-Volt Power
Blue Wire = Brake Controller Output
