Location of Prodigy P3 Electronic Brake Controller Installed in 2017 Ram 1500

Question:

I have a 2017 RAM 1500 and need to add a brake controller and am looking at the Tekonsha P3. I see from your installation video that you install it on the right side of the steering wheel. This doesnt leave very much space for knees. Are there reasons you dont recommend installing it on the left side, closer to the door?

The location is completely up to you. The Prodigy P3 # 90195 can be installed anywhere as long as it is in the vertical plane.

Some reasons for mounting it on the right may be because most people are right handed or possibly that installer just used his personal preference.

On your 2017 Ram 1500 you'll want the plug in harness # 3024-P to go with the P3.
