Recommended Wiring For Brake Controller On 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Question:

Just bought a tekonsha P3 and wondering where the four wire plug is for the service brakes behind the dash. Is it there or do I need to hard wire myself. Thanks.

For your 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, if you have the factory 7 way, you just need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Toyota and Lexus # 3040-P. This wiring adapter will plug into your brake controller and into the harness beneath your vehicle's dash.

If you don't have the factory 7-way, to use trailer brakes on this vehicle I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7 if you don't already have a 7-way trailer connector. If you already have a 7 way trailer connection, I recommend the Draw-Tite Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506.

I've included some videos to help you with this installation.
