Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Installation on 2016 Ram 1500

Question:

c. Jameson recommended the tekonsha p3 #90195. My truck on a dealer installed has to be programmed and I was wondering if this would also have to be programmed to the system of if it doesnt would it cause my warranty to be voided in any way? Thanks

For your 2016 Ram 1500, you can install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 using the Tekonsha Plug-In Adapter, # 3024-P. One end of this custom adapter will plug directly into the built-in port beneath the dash of your vehicle and the other end will plug into the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller. Because the Prodigy P3 will not be communicating directly with your truck's computer, you will not need to have it programmed as you referenced in your question. Once installed you will be good to go.

The installation process also does not require you to splice into your vehicle's wiring system, so you will not have any issues with your warranty.
