For your 2016 Ford F-350 Long Bed and your B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500, I recommend an old style of measurement. To find out where the socket post lies in regard to the rear axle, have a helper stand in the truck bed and hold a broomstick or a tape measure vertical in the gooseneck hitch with the ball removed. You can stand beside the truck, and get a good idea of how far forward of the axle center line the hitch ball will be.
Because you've got a long bed, you won't have any worries about clearance between the rear of the truck cab and the front of the fifth wheel. Use the setting that places the fifth wheel hitch head at the proper height. With the trailer level, you'll want the hitch set high enough so that the underside of the trailer loft has at least 6 inches of clearance above the sides of the truck bed. You'll want the hitch head installed so its sitting so it places the king pin directly over or within 2-3 inches forward of the rear axle centerline.
