Recommended Roof Rack For 2017 Subaru Forester With Raised Side Rails

I have a 2003 Honda CRV with Thule base clips that are attached to the roofs fixed points and rapid aero bars with the feet that simply clip on/off - quick release. Its great because Ive attached 1 set of j hooks and 1 set and glide to the bars and I take the bars off when nit needed. Ive been looking for a new car and will get either a 2017 Subaru Forester or crosstrek. However, both cars come with fixed rails. Is there a quick release system I can use the same as the Thule? Id like to clip them on/off without having to do 4 screws/ties each time. Ideally something compatible with the rapid aero bar. Ive heard that accessing the fixed points would be costly. Thx.

For a 2017 Subaru Forester, I recommend the Thule Roof Rack # TH7502B-TH7502B. This is a low profile system that is easy to install on your raised factory rails and has the t-slots. I recommend getting the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4 # TH450400 to secure this system to your bars.

To use Rapid Aero Bars, you can use the Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710401.

Another option is the Rhino-Rack Vortex with crossbars # RRVA126B-2 and SX series legs # RRSX100. This is more the clamp style, but will still require screws.

There are not options available for the other fit you requested.

We currently do not have a fit for the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek.
