Will the Prodigy P2 Cause the Traction Control Warning Light to Come on

Question:

I would like to have a technical questions answered. On a 2014 Jeep Latitude 3.2l, is it possible to have a defect in the part 90885- Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller that can cause traction control warning light to come on? Thanks

I did some double checking with Tekonsha for this one, and my contact said that this might be possible if, during the hardwiring process, the wrong wire was probed or spliced to the red wire from the brake controller, it may set off some faulty codes. This might be the case if the traction control light comes on when applying the brake. If you remove the brake control stop light wire (red wire) and the traction control light turns off then it is a wiring issues.

If you double check the installation and it looks correct but the issue stops when you remove the brake controller, then I recommend that you look into getting a new brake controller.

He said it is not a very common issue, but he wouldn't rule it out.
