Winch Recommendation for Boat Trailer to Allow Boat to Easily Make it onto Trailer

Question:

Is there such a product as a specially geared hand winch that makes it easier to crank the boat onto the trailer and up to the rubber Vinch bumper? I appreciate your suggestion to purchase the roller bunks. I dont think that will solve my problem, The actual foot print of the Hyde drift boat is quite small. It is 78inch wide at the oar locks but it steeply tapers narrower towards the bow and stern. When the rivers I float are low the trailer and the rear roller are entirely out of the water. There may be 8inch from the bottom of the to the water. So I have to physically lift the bow onto the roller and then walk through the trailer frame and then start to crank it forward. A nuisance for a 73 year old man to say the least! An easy cranking manual winch would really meet my needs. P.S. I think I will try the roller bunks for my bass boat. Thank you.

The higher capacity winch you go with will allow an easier crank than a lower one. A two speed winch like part # DL14825 will work great for what you are looking to do as it will give you the option to use the lower speed gear to move the boat when it's being difficult and then also allow you a faster speed if the boat is wanting to winch up easier.
