Installing Draw-Tite Pulse Preventer For Electric Brake Controller  

Question:

I have a 1995 f350 that the brakes come on with the flashers. The controler is connected to the system with an adapter cabe and connecter. Where would I install the 5501 isolateor into the wireing?

You will need to install the Draw-Tite Pulse Preventer part # 5501, inline on the vehicle brake output or cold side wire after the point where the brake controller is spliced in.

The brake controller red wire will be attached to the cold side of the brake switch. On this same wire, you will install the pulse preventer. After the connection point of the brake controller, cut the wire that leads to the brake lights. Attach the end closest to the brake controller to the yellow wire and attach the brown wire to the end that goes out to the brake lights.

Since you have installed your brake controller with a plug and play harness you will need to determine which wire from the junction box runs to the brake lights and tap in to the circuit there.

I have attached a drawing that shows how the # 5501 is wired.
