Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Civic

Question:

I have a 2006 honda civic. Will this work?. Also how does it actually secure to the vehicle? I have another question. What is the best trunk bike rack for my 2006 honda civic? I dont want a real expensive one. Sturdy though and will mostly be carrying one bike. Thanks..

The SportRack Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier, # SR3152, has not been determined to fit certain vehicles. However, this bike rack is a lot like the the Thule Passage, # TH910XT; which will fit your 2006 Honda Civic. So it is likely that it will fit, but I cannot say that it is a definite fit.

Sportrack is Thules economy brand. If you think about it terms of good, better, best, the Sportrack model is good, but the Thule Passage 2, # TH910XT, is better. The Sportrack is designed to carry 3 bikes so if you are just looking to carry 1 bike, I would go with the Passage. With it you will get cushioned anti-sway cradles, fit dial adjustment for the best fit to your Civic, and it has soft rubber pads to protect your vehicle paint. I have included a link to the installation details below along with a video review of this rack below.

You may also need the Alternative Frame Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, for bikes that do not have a top frame bar that is parallel to the ground. I have included a link to a video review of the adapter below.
