Is a Brake Light Relay Required when Flat Towing a 2017 Jeep Cherokee and Air Force 1 Braking System

Question:

Do I need to add a brake relay or switch when I install the air force 1 air brakes supplemental brake system. I ordered it today thru you guys but the lady kept telling me I didnt need it, Im thinking she might be wrong?

Whether or not you need the brake light relay # RM-88400 for your 2017 Jeep Cherokee depends on the lighting kit you are using. The # RM-88400 relay is not required when using magnetic tow lights. With any other type of lighting kit you will need the relay.

A brake light switch kit is different than the relay. You do not need a brake light switch kit for the 2017 Jeep Cherokee and that may have been what customer service meant.
