Can I Use 15 Inch Wheels Instead Of 14 Inch If I Have Clearance On MY Pacific Coach Works Trailer?
Question:
I have a Pacific Coach Works Econ trailer. It has 14 inch wheels with about 2.5 inch clearance between the tire and the wheel well. The original tires only lasted about 15 thousand miles. Can I go to 15 inch wheels to reduce the speed of the tire hoping it will last longer?

It sounds like you will have the clearance to allow you to go with the slightly larger tire when your trailer is sitting, however you will have to consider how much your suspension moves and the travel distance required for you suspension to work correctly.
If you you determine you have enough space, a slightly larger tire will disperse heat differently. You could use a combination like the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Viking Aluminum Wheel # A15R45BMMFL to have a nice tire with an aluminum wheel. There are many different options to choose from if you give me more specifics I can help with the right tire on the right wheel for your application.
