Recommended Replacement Load Range G Radial Special Trailer Tire in Size ST235/85R16

Question:

I have Sailun 235 85r 16 g rated trailer tires. I have one that the inside side wall is bubbling is there a cause for this. I am looking at Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range G what kind of warranty do they have. How do they compare to Sailun tires

Expert Reply:

A bubble on the inside sidewall of a trailer tire most often occurs from either excessive heat build-up (from under- or over-inflation, overloading or exceeding the tire's rated speed) or from an impact such as the sidewall hitting road debris. One thing or another causes the belts to separate, allowing air to reach the sidewall and create the bubble.

We do not carry the Sailun brand so I have no first-hand experience with their products, but I can tell you that our customers who seek a high-quality special trailer tire in size ST235/85R16 really like the Taskmaster tires such as their G-Rated # TTWPRG235R16. Another option we offer is the G-Rated Westlake # LHWL410.

Both of these tires offer the same 4400-lb capacity at their rated pressure of 110-psi but the Taskmaster has a higher speed rating of 81-mph while the Westlake is rated to 75-mph. However, the Westlake tire carries a 5-year warranty along with a 2-year Roadside Assistance guarantee. The Taskmaster carries a 2-year limited warranty without Roadside Assistance.
