Can AWD Vehicle Use Single Set of Tire Chains and Which Axle to Use them On

Question:

Can I get by with just one set of chains for an AWD? If so, what wheels should they go on?

For all wheel drive vehicles you can typically get by with a single set of tire chains, but you will need to use them on the primary drive axle of the vehicle. Most likely for your 2016 Honda Pilot that will be the front axle but you will need to check the owners manual of the vehicle to determine which axle to use and if there are any other restrictions.

Having chains on all 4 wheels will give you the best possible traction for stopping, turning and accelerating so it would be your best choice.
