Is Additional Drilling Required When Replacing Gooseneck Hitch On 2016 Chevrolet Silveado 2500

Question:

I am looking into purchasing a BandW turnover ball hitch from you. My 2016 silverado 2500hd currently has a Curt double lock turnover hitch in it. Will I have to drill additional holes in my bed for the BandW or will it line up directly with the holes for the Curt including the safety chain hooks?

There are three Curt gooseneck hitches available for your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 truck with the 6-1/2 ft-bed. The safety chain locations are different depending on the hitch you have on your truck. You will want to measure the distance from the end of the bed by the tailgate to the center of the hitch ball to see if it matches the same location for the B&W Gooseneck Hitch, part # BWGNRK1016.

Per the attached installation instructions, the center of the hole needed for the hitch ball hole on the # BWGNRK1016 is 44-inches from the end of the truck bed (tailgate end). If that is where your ball hole is centered then the hitch would line up.

The holes for the safety chain loops do not show specific locations but are drilled when the hitch is installed and secured and drilled from beneath the truck bed. Per my contact at B&W, the safety chain loops are located a little forward of the hitch ball but they were unable to give me the dimensions. The safety chain loops on the Curt are centered with the hitch ball.
