Running Lights Dim When Brake is Applied
Question:
My trailer combination running/brake light when connected is bright when the brakes are NOT applied and Dims when the brake pedal IS applied. Any suggestions on the problem.

Three possible culprits come immediately to mind. First, the trailer might possibly be wired incorrectly. Try swapping the running light and the turn/brake light wire on one of the fixtures, and see if this cures the problem. Another possibility is that the light bulbs might be not be installed correctly. Examine them and make sure they are properly installed. Finally, check the grounding point on the trailer, make sure this connection is secure, and not corroded. If the light fixtures are grounded by their connection with the trailer frame, make sure the connection there is tight and not corroded, as well. If none of these fix the problem, get back with me, and we will look into other possibilities.
