Is there any Advantage to Going with a Higher Load Range Tire than Needed on a Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have a tandem axle boat trailer 4200lbs fully loaded. I currently have c1 rated tires and need to replace them. I know that simply going to D1 rated tires doesnt mean I can carry more load because of the axle rating. Is there any gas mileage or longevity benefits by going with D over C? Thank you

There really isn't any thing substantial that you would notice by going with a higher Load Range than needed. The biggest thing you will likely notice is that the higher LR requires higher PSI in the tires so that means you would possibly spend more time inflating each tire! But that's about it.
