If your trailer wheel pilot hole is 3.19-inches then you can use wheel center cap part # 319EZ or one of the other same-size center caps shown on the linked page. All fit a 3.19-inch pilot hole. The 3-7/16-inch dimension noted on the product page refers to the outside dimension of the flanged part that remains behind the wheel to hold the cap in place. This is why it is larger than the hole diameter.

The next size up is for a 3.33-inch wheel pilot hole diameter. I linked our pages for center caps for a 3.19-inch pilot hole and also for all sizes we offer.

I pulled samples of part # 319EZ from our warehouse to allow me to measure the diameter with a precision caliper. The outside diameter of the cylindrical portion of these center caps that I measured was 3.15-inches.

I also did a test fit of these caps on Dexter trailer wheel # AM20545 which has a 3.19-inch pilot hole. Both center caps fit just fine.
