Thank you for the photo of your 2007 Honda Element for which you want a roof rack that will allow use of the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898. The Hullavator Pro requires that the host roof rack have bar spacing of at least 24-inches, a minimum of 28.5-inches of available bar space, and it also requires that the bars extend outside of the rack feet 4 to 8-inches on both sides. This ensures the lowered carrier will not contact the vehicle. Please refer to the linked diagram that shows these dimensional requirements.

My contact at Thule confirmed that the Hullavator is not ideal for use on your Element. Factory roof rack bars are not compatible and Thule does not offer an aftermarket rack fit. I cannot tell from your photo if your roof crossbars are factory or aftermarket. The longest aftermarket roof rack bars we offer for your Element are the 60-inch Yakima bars in the rack made of parts # Y00422, # Y53TR and # Y00229. These do extend out past the rack legs as required by the Hullavator. This rack fits the Element that has no factory or aftermarket rails or crossbars on its roof.

Do please keep in mind that all the items on your roof - the roof rack, the kayak carrier and the kayak itself - all count against the roof's rated weight capacity.

Please feel free to tell me about the length and weight of the kayak and the brand and size of your current roof rack crossbars.
