Recommended SAE Class S Tire Chains for 2000 Honda Odyssey

Question:

My owners manual says because of limited clearence to mount only SAE Class S cable-type traction devices on the front tires. It also says not to use metal link-type chains. What do you recommend? Thanks

Expert Reply:

I would recommend abiding by the manufacturer stated instructions provided in the owners manual.

I would recommend the Glacier V-Trac Cable Snow Tire Cables, part # PW1938V. These cables are SAE Class S, and the V trac design provides for a smoother ride than the the standard type cables like part # PW1038. The V track cables also include the rubber adjusters, which are not included with the standard cable set.

I will provide a link to the V-Trac cables, as well as a link to our Tire Chain FAQ which contains additional information about tire chains that you might find helpful.
