Using Aftermarket Brake Controller Instead of Installing the Factory Controller on a 2016 Ram 1500
Question:
I was told by my dodge dealer it would cost - $450-500 to install the oem brake controller in the dash not on and flash it??? Is this something that I cannot do myself????

There is a code that has to be added to your 2016 Ram 1500 computer if you want to use the factory brake controller. But why go through all that when you can install a superior aftermarket brake controller and spend not even close to half the money and not have to add a code to the computer?
I recommend the P3 # 90195 and wiring harness # 3024-P. The P3 is compatible with electric and electric over hydraulic braking systems. It has programmable presets if you tow different trailers and has easy to understand diagnostics. It is one of the most advanced brake controllers available.
The wiring harness will allow you to plug the controller directly into the truck. You won't have to splice any wiring for the installation. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this brake controller for you.
