Will the Yakima SkyBox NX 16, part # Y95AV, Cargo Box Work on My 2009 Nissan Murano

Will the Yakima skybox nx 16 fit on the Nissan Murano with Factory crossbars? Seems long and I worry that I can not open the trunk. I need to fit 184 cm skis in a box plus boots etc. Thanks

Yes, the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Cargo Box, part # Y95AV, has been confirmed by Yakima to fit on the factory cross bars of a 2009 Nissan Murano.

If positioned correctly on your roof you should not have to worry about your trunk interfering with this box, the angle of the back of the box also helps give you a little more clearance for when your trunk is opened. You can confirm this fit by measuring from the center of the front crossbar back to the line where the hatch meets the roof. If this measure is 47 inches or more, it will fit without issue.

The overall length of the Skybox NX 16 box is about 75-1/2 inches, but it can accommodate skis up to 175 cm. So, with your skis being 184 centimeters you would not be able to fit the skis into this box. With that being said, I recommend you look at the Skybox NX 18 # Y45NV. It will need 50 inches to clear your hatch, but it can carry skis up to 195 centimeters. I attached a video review of this Skybox NX 16 for you to see the features of this line, but I recommend you go with the Skybox NX 18 # Y45NV if it will fit.
