Why Would I Need to Install the Camco Backflow Preventer on My Trailer or RV

Question:

Do I need a backflow preventer? Where is it installed? We are living full time in our 5th wheel and hooked to city water. Is this preventing backflow into the fresh water tank?

Backlfow preventers are used to prevent water from backfeeding through the water pump and seeping back in to your fresh water tank when hooked to city water.

A backflow preventer is also usually installed behind the city water connection to prevent water from coming out of the city water connection when you are using your freshwater tank and water pump.

If you are hooked to city water most of the time, you may not need to install a backflow preventer.
