Straight-Through Muffler for Louder Exhaust on a 1965 Ford Mustang

Question:

I have a 65 mustang coupe with 3 inch original 40 muffler 2 chamber offset in center out. I am looking for 3 inch flow thru muffler that is louder than current one.will this muffler product work for my mustang? Thanks

Based on the description of your existing exhaust there would have to be some modification and additional exhaust pipe needed to replace your original muffler with # MF14149. This muffler is shorter at 12 inches long and the inlet/outlet are both centered. A muffler shop could make it work, no problem.

If you are looking for loud then you might consider a glass pack muffler such as # MF13129. It actually uses basalt rock wool to avoid burnout that fiberglass packed mufflers can suffer from.
