Location of Hide-A-Goose Hitch Ball in 2012 Chevrolet Silverado with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
I just purchased a 2012 Chevy Crew Cab Z71 Short Bed and I am trying to find a truck box to install ahead of installing my gooseneck hitch. I need to find out how many inches I have to spare for the truck box since the beds are so short on this truck. Thanks.

On your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5-1/2 foot bed the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 9465-54 will install 44-3/4 inches from the rear edge of the truck's bed. That is where the center of hole will be.
With such a short bed truck I suggest using the 5 Inch Offset Ball # 19308 as well. This moved the pivot poing 5 inches rearward to give you extra clearance from your truck's cab.
