Can Tire Chains be Used on a 2016 Mazda 3 Grand Touring
Question:
My Mazda dealer says not to use chains on my 16 Mazda 3 Grand Touring because of the potential of damage to brake sensors, tire pressure sensors and other features used in the wheels and brakes. The damage is possible if the chains should break or come loose.

According to the owner's manual for the 2016 Mazda 3 you can indeed use tire chains on the vehicle. Dealers generally tell people not to because if something were to go wrong it can damage the vehicle which would mean they would have to do warranty work. If they give you a waiver to sign don't sign it because the manual clearly states that you can in fact use chains.
With that said you will want to use chains that require the least amount of space as possible. If it were me I would use Thule Low-Pro chains # TH04115097 because nothing installs faster or easier than these. Take a look at the video review I have linked for them. Please note the chains fit if your tire size is 215/45-18. If you have a different tire size let me know.
