Does The # S64670 Bike Platform Rack Also Work On 2016 Prius C?

Question:

First I have to say that your site has great videos that are not only very helpful also well done! I am looking for a bike rake for my 2016 Prius C and the S64670 comes up in the search for Prius hitch bike rakes but not under the 2016 year. Is there any reason I cannot use the # S64670 for 2016 Prius C, that of course has installed hitch? Thank you

For hitch bike racks, there isn't a fit guide for any manufacturer other than trailer hitch receiver opening size. We have videos based on vehicles we have fitted with specific racks, so we know what will work well. The only requirements for a bike rack fit on a specific vehicle is based on the receiver size, the clearance of the shank past the vehicle bumper, and the weight rating of the hitch. We don't have a trailer hitch receiver fit for a 2016 Toyota Prius C, so that is most likely why we don't have a confirmed hitch bike rack.

The Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches, # S64670, will fit a vehicle with a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. It has a maximum bike capacity of 70 lbs total or 35 lbs per bike. It includes a threaded bolt pin and clip with anti-rattle to secure the rack to the trailer hitch. One of the most important measurements for vehicle fit is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the first wheel hoop is 8 inches. This is important because some vehicles have a trailer hitch that is recessed under the bumper, so that measurement lets you know if the rack or bikes will hit your vehicle.
