What Is the Difference Between the Curt Hitch and the Draw-Tite Hitch on a 2010 Ford Edge

Both the Curt Hitch # C13067 and the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75992 are custom fit hitches that are designed to be mounted on to your 2010 Ford Edge. Both hitches are Class III rated and have the 2 inch opening at the hitch. Both the Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches have a gross trailer weight rating of 4,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 400 lbs. Both the Curt and Draw-Tite Hitch have limited life lifetime warranties.
Of these two, I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch over the Curt for two reasons. First, if you are going to use the hitch for a non-towing application, Curt requires the use of a stabilizing strap # 18050 to be connected on the tow accessory, like a bike rack, at one end and the other end connected to the vehicle. The strap often times lies on the paint of the vehicle and many customers do not like the strap on the paint of their car.
Secondly, the Draw-Tite hitch is a more cost effective model over the Curt hitch. You will be getting the almost exact hitch, but at a better price point and do not need to use a stabilizing strap on non-towing applications.
I also recommend wiring harness # HM11140495 that is designed to custom fit a 2010 Ford Edge. I also recommend a ball mount kit # 989900 for towing.
I linked a video installing the Draw-Tite hitch on a 2010 Ford Edge and few help articles on trailer hitches as well as on ball mounts, and balls for you to view.
