Recommended Snow Tire Chains For 2016 Toyota RAV4, 2016 Subaru Outback, And 2017 Subaru Forester
Question:
Hello, I am looking for good winter chains for three different cars. As I was doing research and looking at your website, I am still unclear for the best chains. The difficulty part is the type of cars that I have, tire clearance, and I just dont want to damage my cars by using the wrong type of chains. I need your assistance, please. 2016 Toyota RAV4 AWD 225/65R17 2016 Subaru Outback AWD 225/65R17 2017 Subaru Forester AWD 225/60R17 Thank you,

I checked all of the owner's manuals for your vehicles and in the manual they all state some restrictions when using tire chains. There arer driving restrictions as far as speed and also what type of chains can be used and which tires the chains can be used with.
The tire chains I recommend for your 2016 RAV4 are the Glacier cables, part # PW1042. I also recommend the rubber adjusters, part # PW99. The rubber adjusters help make installation of the chains a little easier and help maintain the proper tension on the cables. Per the owner's manual these are to be used on the front tires only.
For the 2016 Outback per the owner's manual you are restricted to using cable tire chains. The cables I recommend are the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part # PW1042. These are the same cables that fit the RAV4. These are used on the front tires only as well.
For your 2017 Forester, the owner's manual says to only use cable chains like part # PW1038. These are only to be used for the front tires.
