Recommended Tire Chains For 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 With 245/45-R18 Tires
Question:
Can I install snow tires in a size 245/45 R18 on a 2015 Mercedes cls550 4matic without encountering complications?

Expert Reply:
Your CLS requires Class S tire chains because of clearance. Per the owner's manual tire chains can only be used on the rear tires.
The snow chains I recommend are the Pewag Snox Pro Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains, part # PWSXP570. To make sure you have the clearance for these chains you can take a couple of quick measurements. I have attached a photo that shows where you can measure to make sure you have the room. You will need at lease 1.47 inches between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and you need at least .59 inches between the sidewall of the tire and the vehicle.
