In order to determine if the etrailer carrier, # e98874, or another cargo carrier will fit your 2008 Chevy Tahoe, there is one important measurement you will need to take. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the trailer hitch out to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. This is the distance you will need to look at when choosing a carrier. As long as the carrier extends more than this measurement, it will fit without making contact with the rear of the vehicle.

On the etrailer carrier you have referenced, it measures 19-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the carrier when the carrier is in the down position. When folded up, it measures 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole. For this and other carriers, the extension information can be found under the Specs area on the product page.
