Can Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount Adapter Fit on a Curt Weight Distribution Shank
Question:
im considering the curt 17128 2-1/2inch wd shank and would like to use it as a mount and mount a ball directly to it. is there an equivalent to the BA-1 that will work on a 2-1/2inch weight distribution shank so i can mount my 2-5/16 ball directly to it?

The vertical part of Curt weight distribution shank # C17131 is the same width as ones for 2 inch hitches meaning # BA-1 will still work though they are not tested together.
But it would be better to use an adjustable ball mount that is designed for regular towing. For one that fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch and is rated for 10,000 pounds and that also includes both a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch ball I recommend # DTSTBM6425. The overall cost is only a little more than combining the Curt and Convert-A-Ball parts.
