Parts Required to Flat Tow 2016 Jeep Wrangler Behind Motorhome
Question:
what are the things I need to buy to tow my Jeep behind our motorhome? I know I need a bar and plates, but what else do I need to safely tow the Jeep in the US and Canada? It has no special equipment, just stock.

Flat towing a vehicle behind a motorhome requires a number of items apart from the tow bar and base plates. These other items include safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit, a high/low hitch adapter and a braking system for the Jeep. Each of these items is explained in detail in the linked articles.
Starting with base plates, I suggest the Blue Ox kit # BX1126, shown in the linked installation video, which will work great with their Alpha tow bar # BX7380. Safety cables are included with the Alpha.
For wiring/lighting you can use Hopkins kit # HM56200 for a plug-in installation or for the easiest way to add standalone towing lights a magnetic kit # TL21RK which takes only moments to install and remove.
The braking system I suggest is the portable and wireless Blue Ox Patriot, part # BLU37TR. This unit is easy to install and it can stay with you even when you change vehicles since it is fully portable. Finally for a hitch adapter to keep your tow bar level you can refer to the linked page that shows all high/low adapters like # RM-048-6.
