Enclosed Cargo Carrier for Rear of RV to Carry 165 cm Skis

Question:

I think I would like an enclosed carrier that will attach to my hitch kit on my Class B Sprinter RV, but it is hard to find a box that has dimensions sufficient to contain my skis, poles and boots. I dont want to bring this wet equipment into the cabin of the Sprinter or even in the back storage. I am thinking that the Aero gear space 34 would work for skis that are about 165 cm long, since on diagonal, it appears that they would fit. The clam opening would also help, because the skis can be angled into a corner and still fit, even if they are a little longer. Am I on the right track here, or is there a more economical or efficient way of doing this?

Not all cargo carriers can be used at the rear of RVs but I spoke with my contact at Let's Go Aero and she recommended the GearSpace 34 # HGK819 as she said that is the favorite among the RV crowd.

The inside dimensions of the box are 63 inches long and 40 inches tall that means on a diagonal you have 74 inches or 187 centimeters. That would be long enough for 165 centimeter skis.
