03 Chevy S10 with LSA 6.2 engine  

Question:

Running 6.2 LSA engine with Hedman headers in 03 Chevy Extended 3 door pickup 2 who drive. Running 3inch exhaust with cut outs. Wanting to run 4inch diameter muffler with 3inch inlet and outlet. Can you recommend muffler and resonator. Exhaust will exit before rear tire due to fuel cell and 4 link. Would crossover pipe be needed? Thanks.

I reached out to my contact at MagnaFlow to get their take on this. The muffler is the tricky part because it's going to come down to space. A good place to start is the MagnaFlow # MF12279 which measures 5 x 8 x 30 inches. Another option is # MF12579 which is 5 x 11 x 28 inches. Both will fit your 3 inch pipes.

For a 4 inch resonator # MF14419, which is technically a muffler but for your truck will be acting as the resonator. Another option if you want to go to a 5 inch is # MF12867. Once again they both fit 3 inch pipes.

A crossover pipe isn't needed. However, it will be beneficial giving you a cleaner tone and better performance.
