Where to Find Lock Core Number for Yakima Locks
Question:
Where do you find the model number. My keys were misplaced and in order to get a new key I need the model #. However, I cannot find it. I was told that they are usually on the lock, but it is not there. Where do I find the number?

Expert Reply:
The lock number for a Yakima lock is actually on the lock core. In order to get the number the core must be removed which cannot be done when it is locked. The best way to do this is to call a locksmith. They will be best at getting into the lock without damaging anything. Once the lock is unlocked you can use the Yakima Control Key # Y8007835 to remove the lock core and read the lock number.
I have included a picture of a lock core that shows the lock number
